The window from disclosure to a working exploit is now measured in days, and heading towards hours.
For network teams, that points to one outcome. Patching frequency is going up, and it is not coming back down.
Every patch is a configuration change on a live, critical platform. Identity services, firewalls, communications systems and network controllers all carry the load, and all need patching more often as single and chained CVEs climb. Patching faster only works if you can recover with certainty. Most organisations patch faster than they can back up and validate. Recovery is assumed, not proven.
